Been a while.
I’ve just broken up from Uni for Easter, and am back in Amersham for the duration of the holidays (through till early May). Had an excellent term, the highlight being the ringing without a doubt.
I was part of Exeters 14-man team for the National 12 bell striking contest this year. I ended up as one of the reserved, but had a great day in London, and Exeter (completely surprisingly) rang very well and came second, which puts us in the final for the first time since 1997 (and the first time ringing Maximus). This years final is at Crediton, just down the road from Exeter. We have just got the list of practice dates for the team for the final; it looks like a busy few months ahead.
Ringing over Easter looks set to be interesting. We’ve got the Amersham tower AGM tonight where it looks like all of the officer positions other than Secretary will be reallocated. Being Holy Week there is no ringing itself, but next week I have two peals on the 5th, one on the 6th, one on the 8th and one on the 10th. The rest of the holiday is also quite busy.
Peals this year are doing well; I have already rung 16 which equals my year total for 2008. This also puts me on track for 64 overall in the year which I would be very happy with.
